IT'S A SHORT CONVERSATION. WE HAVE A NUMBER OF PROCLAMATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS, AND FOLLOWING THAT, WE'LL HAVE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION, COMMISSION REPORTS, CONSENT AGENDA, WHICH WE[5. Consent Agenda]
HAVE JUST THE MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS COMMISSION MEETINGS.AND THEN IN THE REGULAR AGENDA UNDER ORDINANCES, WE HAVE ONE ITEM WHICH IS AN UPDATE TO TAMARAC´S IMPACT FEES. AND I'M GOING TO HAVE DEPUTY CITY MANAGER SAY A FEW WORDS ABOUT THAT, AND I SEE PUBLIC COMING IN.
AND SO THIS IS A PUBLIC MEETING, AND THIS IS OPEN TO PUBLIC COMMENTARY ON THE AGENDA ITEM.

TO2611 - An Ordinance of the City of Tamarac, Florida, amending Section 10-5.7 entitled “New Development Impact Fees” of Chapter 10, of the Tamarac City Code, adopting the City of Tamarac Impact Fee Study, attached hereto as Exhibit “A”; by amending the Impact Fee Schedule and Land Use Categories, providing for an increase to the current impact fee rate of 25% for Governmental Facilities, Parks and Recreational Facilities and Multimodal Transportation; re-establishing criteria and administrative procedures for the assessment and collection of impact fees, providing updated guidelines for the phasing of impact fee increases, processing of refunds, credits, and fair share agreements relative to the city’s impact fee program; providing for notice and implementation; providing for codification; providing a savings provision, providing a conflicts provision, providing for severability, and providing for an effective date.]
THAT'S ITEM 7.A. OUR CONSULTANT, CARSON BICE WILL BE HERE ON WEDNESDAY TO DELIVER A FULL PRESENTATION.AS YOU'VE SAID, THIS IS AN UPDATE IN THE CITY'S DEVELOPMENT IMPACT FEES, WHICH ACCORDING TO HOUSE BILL 479, WHICH WAS ADOPTED IN 2024, CITIES CANNOT ASSESS DEVELOPMENT IMPACT FEES IF THEIR STUDY IS OLDER THAN FOUR YEARS OLD.
AND THE CITY OF TAMARAC STUDY WAS ADOPTED IN 2019.
AND SO IT´S OLDER THAN FOUR YEARS. AND SO WE HAD TO UPDATE THE STUDY BASED ON WHAT'S BEING PROPOSED ON THIS ORDINANCE, WE'RE PROPOSING THAT THE FEES BE 25% MORE THAN THE CURRENT FEES.
