I'M HERE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF THE PARKLAND AND I WOULD LIKE TO JOIN ME UP FRONT. OUR VICE MAYOR KEN CUTLER COMMISSIONER RICH WALKER. COMMISSIONER BOB PATERSON. AND. AND OUR SLIGHTLY INJURED COMMISSIONER STACY CAGAN. AS WE ARE HERE TO THANK THE CITY OF TAMARACK FOR ALL OF THEIR SUPPORT. ON FEBRUARY 14TH AND SINCE FEBRUARY 14TH FOR OUR CITY EVEN THOUGH THIS TRAGEDY HAPPENED IN OUR CITY IT HAS HAD RIPPLE EFFECTS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY. AND WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED TO HAVE SO MANY PEOPLE FROM THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY AND ESPECIALLY THE CITY OF TAMARACK SUPPORT US SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY AND PROVIDE HELP WHEN WE NEEDED IT MORE THAN WE EVER HAVE.

SO AS A SMALL TOKEN OF APPRECIATION FROM OUR CITY I WOULD LIKE TO BRING THIS TO YOU AND WE THANK YOU ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP. YEAH IT'S VERY HEAVY. ONCE AGAIN WE ATTENDED THE BROWARD LEAGUE OF CITIES MEETING WHERE SHE WAS INDUCTED AS A HOME RULE HERO AND HOME RULE IS THE ABILITY FOR A CITY TO ADDRESS LOCAL PROBLEMS WITH LOCAL SOLUTIONS WITH MINIMAL STATE INTERFERENCE. SO A HOME RULE HERO AWARD RECIPIENT ARE LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS WHO CONSTANTLY RESPOND TO THE LEAGUE'S REQUEST TO REACH OUT TO THE MEMBERS OF THE LEGISLATURE AND HELP TO GIVE A LOCAL PERSPECTIVE TO THE ISSUE. AND SO I HAVE THE PLEASURE OF GOING TO TALLAHASSEE WITH COMMISSIONER FISHMAN SOME TIMES AND SITTING ON COMMITTEES FOR THE FLORIDA LEAGUE OF CITIES AND MAKING SURE THAT OUR VOICE IS HEARD IN TALLAHASSEE.

UNFORTUNATELY I COULDN'T BE THERE WE WERE IN BUDGET MEETINGS BUT HAVING SPOKEN TO SEVERAL PEOPLE WERE THAT WERE THERE. THEY SAID THAT IT LOOKED SO EASY BUT NOT QUITE SO IT TAKES A LOT OF SKILL. THEY REFERRED TO IT AS IF YOU REMEMBER YEARS AGO THERE WERE THOSE MACHINES THAT HAD STUFFED ANIMALS IN THEM AND IT LOOKED SO EASY TO TAKE THE HOOK DOWN AND GRAB THE STUFFED ANIMAL BUT NOT AS EASY AS IT WAS. BUT UNIVERSITY WILL HAVE ROBOTIC SURGERY NOW SO I THINK IT'S A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. IT'S PROGRESSIVE AND IT WILL MAKE SURGERY EASIER FOR PEOPLE. IT'S A FABULOUS PROGRAM FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF IT. IT'S A MATCHING FIVE THOUSAND DOLLAR GRANT FOR YOUR AGE AWAY FOR YOUR ENTRANCES. THE DEADLINE IS JUNE 20TH.
