THEY FILED A REQUEST FOR A ZONING VERIFICATION LETTER WITH THE CITY TO HAVE AN OPINION FROM THE CITY ABOUT WHETHER THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE THAT MOVE. THEY APPEALED THAT TO THE PLANNING BOARD. WE HAD A HEARING IN FRONT OF THE PLANNING BOARD. PLANNING BOARD AFFIRMED THAT DECISION. IN THE TIME BETWEEN THE PLANNING BOARD HEARING AND COMING HERE, THE PROPERTY WAS LEASED TO ANOTHER PARTY. NOW, THE NATURE OF HIS OWNING VERIFICATION LETTER IS COMPLETELY ADVISORY. THERE'S NO REQUIREMENT THAT THE APPLICANT ACTUALLY FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE ACTION THAT THEY'RE PROPOSING, AND THERE'S NO TIME LIMIT AS TO WHEN THEY WOULD HAVE TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THAT ACTION. GOOD VISIBLE SIGNAGE CAN ADD 10-15 PERCENT IN SALES FOR BUSINESS. I KNOW THE CITY DOESN'T WANT TO LOOK LIKE TAMMY YALMY TRAIL WITH LARGE ROADSIDE SIGNS ARE SEVERAL FEET, AND ALLOWING THE BUSINESS TO HAVE 40 PERCENT OF THE WINDOW COVERED BY A SIGN IS FINE, BUT IT DOESN'T DO ANY GOOD AT THE LANDSCAPING REGULATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS BY THE CITY AND COUNTY MAKE IT NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE IT FROM THE ROAD.
