I WOKE UP THIS MORNING WITH THE IDEA OF THE COMPANY THAT WANTS TO DEVELOP MY BACKYARD IN MY NEIGHBOR'S BACKYARD WAS SUING THE CITY OF TAMARAC AND BROWARD COURT BECAUSE THEY WANTED MORE TIME TO HAVE A HEARING.

MORE TIME AFTER WE'VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THIS FOR FOUR YEARS AND AFTER FOUR YEARS OF TELLING US THEY HAD A GREAT PLAN, IT TURNS OUT THAT THEY DON'T HAVE A PLAN.

SO 13TH FLOOR WANTS TO BE OUR PARTNER AND GET SPECIAL TREATMENT FROM ALL OF YOU, THE CITY COMMISSION.

AND THEY GO TO COURT FOR A LAWSUIT THIS MORNING.

AND YOU KNOW WHAT THE FIRST LINE IN THAT LAWSUIT SAID THIS IS WHAT IS SAID.

THE CITY OF TAMARAC IS NOT NEW TO CORRUPTION, REALLY.

THAT'S THEIR FIRST SENTENCE, AND IT GOES ON TO STATE.

PUT IT ANOTHER WAY THE CITY HAS DECIDED THAT IT WAS TOO RISKY FOR THE DEVELOPER'S PROPOSAL ON ITS MERITS, INSTEAD WITH A THUMB FIRMLY ON THE SCALE.

THE CITY HAS DECIDED TO TRAMPLE THE RIGHTS OF BUSINESS TO PROCEED.

IMAGINE THAT.

IMAGINE THAT WE HAVE BEEN HERE FOR FOUR YEARS, THAT WE'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHTS IN THE COMMUNITY FOR FOUR YEARS.

THEY'VE BEEN ACCOMMODATING, I THINK, AND NO PLAN IS PERFECT.

THE REASON FOR THAT IS BECAUSE SOME DEVELOPERS DON'T BUILD THE AMENITIES UNTIL THE END AND LEAVE WITHOUT IT.

I KNOW BECAUSE I'VE SEEN IT HAPPEN.

THIS IS A LAW IN MANY CITIES.

SECONDLY, IT SHOULD BE A REQUIREMENT THAT AN ACTUAL SITE PLAN, A COMPLETED SITE PLAN WITH UNDERGROUND AND EVERYTHING ELSE.

EXACTLY WHAT'S GOING TO BE BUILT SHOULD BE IN THE CONTRACT WITH THE CITY, SO NOTHING ELSE CAN BE BUILT.

THE CONCERN WOULD BE OBVIOUSLY CONCERNED ABOUT DURING CONSTRUCTION, THE ENORMOUS QUANTITY OF DUST AND THE AIRBORNE TOXICS WHICH ARE IN THE SOIL.

AND IF THE CONSTRUCTION WENT THROUGH AND THE PROJECT BECAME FULLY IMPLEMENTED, THERE WILL BE OBVIOUSLY A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH TRAFFIC IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

AND THE PROPOSAL TO CLOSE MOST OF THE ENTRANCES TO THE WOODLANDS WOULD CREATE GREAT PROBLEMS FOR PEOPLE LIVING IN THE WOODLANDS AND PEOPLE SEEKING TO COME INTO THE WOODLANDS.

SO WE ARE STRONGLY OPPOSED TO THE PROJECT AND I DON'T SEE ANY WHERE WHERE THE PROPOSED PROJECT WOULD ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE WOODLANDS WITH THE KIND OF HOUSES THAT ARE PROPOSED.

IT REALLY CONCERNS ME AND IT SHOULD CONCERN YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE REPRESENTING THE CITIZENS OF TAMARAC OR HEALTH.

DEVELOPMENT IS A GOOD THING, BUT IT HAS TO BE SOUND.

13TH FLOOR PLAN CANNOT BE OUR ONLY SOLUTION.

THIS ZONING CHANGE THAT 13TH FLOOR WANTS WOULD GO AGAINST POLICY 254 BROWARD COUNTY SHALL STRONGLY ENCOURAGE THE PRESERVATION OF A GREEN SPACE.

THE OPEN SPACE AREA NUMBERS MAY STILL ALLOW MEETING THESE REQUIREMENTS, BUT A CLOSER LOOK MAY REVEAL OTHERWISE.

LARGE PORTIONS OF THE RETAINED GREEN SPACE IS DESTINED TO BECOME UNUSABLE BY RESIDENTS.

IT WILL BECOME RUNOFF WATER RETENTION LAKES.

CURRENTLY, OUR EXCESS RAINWATER IS MANAGED AND TRANSFERRED THROUGH THE COUNTY'S SERIES OF DRAINAGE CANALS THAT LEAD OUT TOWARDS THE OCEAN.

THESE ARE SLOWLY BECOMING LESS EFFECTIVE AS THE OCEAN LEVEL CONTINUES TO RISE.

GIVEN OUR CURRENT WOODLANDS NEIGHBORHOOD STORMWATER DRAINAGE ISSUES AND CONSIDERING THE NOT SO GREAT FUTURE PROGNOSIS OF SEA LEVEL RISE, THIS WILL TAX OUR DRAINAGE SYSTEM.

THIS DEVELOPMENT WILL NOT ENHANCE THE WOODLANDS COMMUNITY, BUT INSTEAD CREATE FURTHER DETRIMENT TO THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THE CURRENT WOODLANDS RESIDENTS.

THE DEVELOPER'S PROMISED TO RETAIN THE MAJORITY OF THE GREEN SPACE AS WELL, THAT IDEA SOUNDS GOOD ON PAPER.

IT IS NOT AS GREAT AS IT SEEMS. AS MENTIONED, THE MAJOR OPEN AREAS WILL BE USED TO EXPAND THE RETENTION LAKES.

THE MAJORITY OF THE ACTUAL USABLE OPEN GREEN SPACE THAT IS BEING SET ASIDE THAT WILL REMAIN FOR RESIDENTS TO ENJOY IS TO BE LOCATED ON THE NON-DEVELOPABLE AREA UNDER THE MAIN POWER GRID LINES.

ENJOYING NATURE UNDER POWER LINES, THIS IS NOT MY IDEA OF SAFE, HEALTHY, ENGAGING CONTACT WITH NATURE.

THIS IS AN UNACCEPTABLE AND DETRIMENTAL PATH.

THERE ARE TOO MANY RED FLAGS 13TH FLOOR DOES NOT ADDRESS, SUCH AS THE ARSENIC PROBLEM.

THE NUMBER OF HOUSES AND DESIGN LAYOUT OF THE SMALLER TWO STOREY ONES DOES NOT INTEGRATE WITH THE CURRENT NEIGHBORHOOD.

IT WILL DENSIFY SOME AREAS IN A WAY THAT DOES NOT TRY TO IMITATE THE SPACING AND LAYOUT OF THE ORIGINAL WOODLANDS PLAN.

IT WILL NOT FIT INTO THE ESSENCE OF OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.

THEY SHOULD AT LEAST MIMIC THE SPACING ARRANGEMENT, HOME SIZE AND STYLE.

A PLAN NEEDS TO MAKE A BETTER EFFORT AND TO FOLLOW THE MID-CENTURY MODERN DESIGNS.

THIS NEIGHBORHOOD IS VERY UNIQUE IN SOUTH FLORIDA, OFFERING A LARGE COLLECTIVE OF MID-CENTURY MODERN HOMES.

THIS TYPE OF THINKING COULD BENEFIT TAMARAC, THIS NEIGHBORHOOD COULD CONTINUE TO BECOME MORE AND MORE DESIRABLE; FEWER LARGER HOMES SIMILAR IN SIZE TO THE PROPOSED ONES WOULD BE A SMARTER APPROACH.

AND SO I WOULD JUST LIKE TO REITERATE THE REQUEST TO THE CITY MANAGER TO DIRECT THE CITY CLERK TO PROVIDE THE INFORMATION TO MS. LIEBERMAN AND THAT, TO CLARIFY IS THE DISPATCH REPORT AND ZONE DEPUTY REPORT FOR SECTION FOUR FOR OCTOBER FIVE AND THE DISPATCH REPORT AND ZONE DEPUTY REPORT FOR SECTION THREE FOR OCTOBER 11TH.

AND THEN WHEN IT WAS TURNED OVER TO MS. LIEBERMAN OR MICHAELSON APPARENTLY DIDN'T GIVE HER THE INFORMATION SHE WAS LOOKING FOR.

SO THAT'S WHY WE THE CLERK WENT BACK TO HER AND SAID, HEY, YOU MAY NEED TO TALK DIRECTLY TO THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE BECAUSE WE MADE THE REQUEST AND THIS IS WHAT WE GOT.

SO IT MAY BE THE ISSUE IS IN THE TRANSLATION OF THE REQUEST AND HOW THE SHERIFF
