6.PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

Any member of the public may speak to any issue that is not agendized for public hearing at this meeting. Speakers will be limited to three minutes during this item and at public hearings. There will be a thirty (30) minute aggregate time limit for this item. Any member of the public wishing to comment publicly on any matter, including on items on the agenda, may submit their comments by email to cityclerk@tamarac.org. All comments submitted by email, that if read orally, are three minutes or less shall be read into the record. All comments submitted by email shall be made part of the public record. Public comments may also be submitted online, during the meeting, through Facebook Live. Members of the public may also register online at https://www.tamarac.org/signup. Individuals who register will be contacted by telephone at the appropriate time during the meeting to offer their public comments.

When an issue has been designated as quasi-judicial, public remarks shall only be heard during a quasi-judicial hearing that has been properly noticed for that matter.


ANNOUNCEMENT OF TIME ALLOCATIONS-MOTIONS TO TABLE

The Chair at this time will announce those items that have been given a specific time to be heard, and will entertain motions from the Commission members to table those items that require research. The Commission may agendize by majority consent matters of an urgent nature which have come to the Commission's attention after publication.

a.TR13545 - Ronald L. Book Amendment #18 to Agreement

A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida; approving Amendment #18 to the Agreement between the City of Tamarac and Ronald L. Book, P.A., for lobbying services, extending the Agreement for one year through January 25, 2022, at a cost not to exceed Fifty-Nine Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($59,400) per year, authorizing the appropriate City Officials to execute the Amendment to the Agreement for lobbying services; providing for conflicts; providing for severability; and providing for an effective date. 

b.TR13546 - District 4 Planning Board Appointment

A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, appointing David Mountford to the Planning Board to serve a term concurrent with the appointing Commission member, or until such time as new appointments are made; providing for conflicts; providing for severability; and providing for an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, amending Chapter 2, “Administration,” Article III, “Boards, Committees, Commissions,” of the City of Tamarac Code of Ordinances, by creating Division 4, “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Board”; providing for conflicts; providing for severability; providing for codification; and providing for an effective date.

d.Discussion and possible direction regarding Cities for Citizenship (C4C)

Discussion and possible motion requested by Commissioner Gelin regarding joining the Cities for Citizenship (C4C) initiative demonstrating City of Tamarac's support for the immigrant community and commitment to increase citizenship among eligible U.S. permanent residents. The membership is free and the member cities determine the naturalization support activities to undertake.

e.Discussion and possible direction regarding a Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Commission on the Status of Women

Commissioner Bolton has requested discussion and possible direction on the creation of the Commission on the Status of Women named in honor of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and dedicated to the fair and equal treatment and advancement of women in the City of Tamarac. The members would be tasked with researching and advising the City Commission on various matters pertaining to the status  of women, including but not limited to the working and living conditions, health and wellness, public and private services, policies and practices, education and training, and public accommodations afforded to women.

f.Discussion and possible direction regarding the actions of President Donald J. Trump

The City Commission may consider and act upon such other business as may come before it. In the event this agenda must be revised, such revised copies will be available to the public at the City Commission meeting.
